Aerial silk dancing

Whilst it is a relatively forgiving apparatus given the softness of the material, aerial silks demand engagement and thus strengthening of the core muscles. This in combination with improving grip strength, shoulder mobility, back and lat muscles, facilitate muscles to work in harmony with each other. Less commonly accessible leg muscle groups are also targeted, such as the hip flexors and adductors & abductors, to lengthen and release tension in the lower back, hamstrings and calves. It may look intimidating but it's a great way to challenge the body while having fun!
